About The Position
UCP of Long Island is seeking a dedicated nursing leader to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing for an OPWDD-certified 31-bed intermediate care facility. The role leads nursing operations and helps create a culture of excellence through mentoring, collaboration, and accountability. The Assistant Director of Nursing guides Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Supervisors, and AMAP staff.
Requirements
- New York State Registered Nurse license.
- BSN or Master's degree in Nursing.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Nice To Haves
- OPWDD experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop nursing objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Establish and improve the Nursing Quality Assurance Plan.
- Maintain compliance with care standards and regulations.
- Implement ICF and IRA regulations.
- Participate in management meetings and team conferences.
- Provide healthcare consultation and emergency nursing coverage.
- Mentor and guide nursing staff while fostering collaboration and accountability.
