About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing assumes delegated responsibility and accountability for the provision of resident care according to professional standards of nursing practice in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Must have no restrictions on license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

• Two years experience providing direct care to residents in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Prior experience as a Unit Charge Nurse or similar supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect the facility’s mission and philosophy.
• Conduct education, infection control, quality assurance and admissions screening functions as assigned.
• Utilize resources in an efficient and economic manner to ensure that each resident achieves the highest practicable physical, mental and psycho-social well-being.
• Supervises licensed nurses and other nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services according to each resident’s comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care.
• Conduct tours.
• Coordinate timely admission contract completion.
• Work to maintain a census culture within the center.
• Work to maintain and exceed the census goals.
