About The Position

Forest Acres Post Acute is a beautiful 132-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility conveniently located in Downtown Columbia, South Carolina. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team! This is an exciting opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is ready to help drive excellence in resident care while supporting and developing an outstanding nursing team.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and survey readiness
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must maintain all required continuing education/licensing
  • Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing at all times
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and read regularly throughout the workday
  • Frequent use of office equipment including computers, phones, copiers, scanners, and fax machines

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DON in planning, developing, and supervising nursing staff activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Partner with the DON to recruit, hire, orient, and train nursing staff
  • Assist with employee evaluations, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Serve as a backup to the DON and provide nursing leadership as needed
  • Provide direct resident care when necessary
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, conduct rounds, and monitor resident conditions
  • Ensure resident safety and promote dignity, respect, and quality of life
  • Serve as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Attend and lead staff meetings in the DON's absence
  • Provide reports and recommendations regarding nursing operations
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing systems that support quality care and resident rights
  • Support staff education and ongoing in-service training programs
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding residents and employees
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and communicate updates appropriately
  • Assist with the overall supervision and management of nursing staff
