The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a primarily field-based clinical leadership position responsible for promoting high-quality patient care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing clinical guidance and support to nursing staff. The ADON oversees clinical services, addresses patient care needs, and helps ensure compliance with physician orders, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. The role typically involves completing 2–5 field visits per day, depending on patient census, agency needs, physician orders, and the complexity of care required. The successful candidate demonstrates clinical judgment, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a home health care environment. Flexibility, responsiveness, and commitment to quality patient care are essential. The ADON manages competing clinical priorities, maintains accurate documentation, and supports patients, families, and nursing staff while meeting operational and regulatory requirements. The position is designed to be primarily field-based. Office time is expected to be no more than one day per week and no more than ten hours per week, although attendance and administrative responsibilities may change based on patient census, staffing needs, urgent clinical matters, and other operational requirements. Compensation is visit-based: Standard BrightStar visits are $70 per visit, for up to two hours including documentation; Medically Home weekday visits are $115 per visit; and Medically Home weekend visits are $130 per visit. Mileage is included for the visit types identified in the compensation schedule. Additional compensation arrangements, benefits, or employment terms will be discussed during the interview process.
