Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
About The Position
Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Evanston, IL, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This role requires an inspirational leader who is empathetic, organized, and sets clear expectations and objectives. The ADON collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) on all nursing department tasks and duties to ensure quality nursing services for individuals with mental illness, acting as second in command as needed. Greenwood Care is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDHP), dedicated to the treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation of individuals affected by chronic psychiatric illnesses.
Requirements
- Must be either a LPN or RN, licensed in the State of Illinois; RN preferred
- Two to Three years’ clinical management experience in healthcare and/or mental health facility
- Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA IDPH
- Desire to help adults with psychiatric disorders work toward recovery

Responsibilities
- Support nursing department for a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility
- Help hire, train, and evaluate nurses and care staff
- Scheduling of nursing staff
- Ensure the facility meets state, federal, and local healthcare regulations
- Help manage budgets, handle disciplinary actions, and lead team meetings
- Support operations of nursing department including ordering supplies, communication with pharmacies and providers
- Ensure nursing care needs of consumers are met
