About The Position

River Glen Healthcare Center is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing in Southbury, Connecticut. The role assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing the nursing department and maintaining quality standards of care. The Assistant Director of Nursing may direct the department when the DON is absent and travels as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing supervisory experience.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice.
• Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in managing the nursing department and maintaining quality standards of care, including consulting with medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator on nursing-service matters.
• Provide input on the interpretation of nursing philosophy and help establish departmental goals and objectives.
• Assist the DON with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication with nursing staff at all levels to promote effective care delivery.
• Promote positive employee relations, a strong customer-service ethic, and ongoing staff education and training alongside the DON.
• Direct the department in the DON’s absence, as needed.
• Ensure the integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
• Identify current employees for mentoring toward personal and career advancement into leadership positions within the corporation.
• Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
