Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
About The Position
The Pines at Utica is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join their team. This role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring high standards of resident care and safety, and leading a team of nurses and aides. The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing to achieve clinical program objectives, enhance care standards, and improve resident well-being. The position is responsible for daily clinical operations, compliance, care coordination, and patient/family satisfaction. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director assumes their responsibilities.
Requirements
- Valid New York State RN nursing license
- Commitment to resident-centered care and excellence in healthcare delivery
- Visionary mindset with a focus on innovation and quality improvement
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
- Strong clinical, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree or certification preferred
- Experience in a nursing leadership role in a Long-Term Care or similar healthcare setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing operations, including staffing, training, and quality assurance
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of nurses and healthcare professionals
- Support the development and implementation of care plans and protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize resident care
- Serve as operational liaison between the nursing units and the Director of Nursing
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional care to our residents
- Participate in quality assurance monitoring and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in nursing care
