About The Position
UCP of Long Island is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for its OPWDD-certified 31-bed intermediate care facility. The role leads nursing operations, develops and improves nursing policies and quality assurance, and helps ensure compliance with care standards and regulations. The Assistant Director of Nursing guides Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Supervisors, and AMAP staff through mentoring, collaboration, and accountability.
Requirements
- NYS Registered Nurse license.
- BSN or Master's degree in Nursing.
- Five or more years of leadership experience.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Nice To Haves
- OPWDD experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop nursing objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Establish and improve the Nursing Quality Assurance Plan.
- Maintain compliance with care standards and regulations.
- Implement ICF and IRA regulations.
- Participate in management meetings and team conferences.
- Provide healthcare consultation and emergency nursing coverage.
- Guide and mentor Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Supervisors, and AMAP staff, fostering collaboration and accountability.
