Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON)

Requirements
- Must possess a current RN license. License must be in good standing.
- BLS Certified
- IP Certification
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a long term care setting preferred, though not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversight and completion of Antibiotic Stewardship program and monitor residents' antibiotic use
- Collaborate with facility leadership and the MD to develop, implement and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan
- Partner with local, state, and national agencies on activities related to infection prevention
- Conduct outbreak investigations
- Maintain a system of reporting possible incidents of communicable disease to local, state, or national agencies as required
- Present in-service education on infection prevention policies and procedures
- Adhere to company and CDC infection prevention guidelines
- Provide support to DON
- Direct nursing staff
- Makes frequent rounds to ensure nursing staff are following their assigned duties and redirect as necessary
- Assist resolution of resident/family concerns
- Participate in training programs
- Assist in orientation of new staff
- On-call Rotation
- Work a unit cart as needed
- Ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
