About The Position

The Living Centers in Geneva, NY are skilled nursing and long-term care communities dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and resident-centered care. Under the direction of the Long-Term Care (LTC) Director of Nursing (DON), the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a key leadership role in supporting clinical and operational excellence across the facility. The ADON is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote high standards of nursing practice, staff competency, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction. This role also contributes to financial performance through effective resource management, reimbursement optimization, and cost control. The ADON maintains 24-hour accountability for nursing operations and participates in organizational committees to drive quality and performance improvements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of four (4) years of nursing leadership/management experience
  • At least two (2) years of nursing experience in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Strong knowledge of NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations and survey process
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations)

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing
  • Experience with PRI and MDS processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the facility’s Performance Improvement Program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals
  • Participate in the LTC Performance Improvement Committee
  • Provide oversight of PRI and MDS processes to support reimbursement optimization and financial sustainability
  • Represent Nursing on the LTC Safety Committee and coordinate employee safety initiatives
  • Manage and oversee attendance processes for nursing staff
  • Provide daily supervision and support of nursing staff and clinical operations
  • Assume Nurse Manager responsibilities as needed
  • Support recruitment and interview processes for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
