About The Position

The Recovery Village Indianapolis (RVI) is seeking a passionate and committed Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join their team. RVI is an addiction treatment center offering a continuum of care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, with 71 beds across Detox, Residential, and Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Outpatient Treatment. The ADON performs a wide variety of job duties, including caring for and educating patients, establishing trust, and building rapport. This role assists the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the Nursing Department and is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Staff on their assigned unit. The ADON may also be required to function in the role of the Director of Nursing in their absence.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse as indicated in State law.
• Licensed to practice in the appropriate state, as applicable, required.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Licensed Registered Nurse with Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• Prior leadership/supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve pending issues from the previous shift, e.g., missed or incomplete labs or treatments, incomplete admissions or discharges, missing data for continuity of care.
• Conduct compliance audits related to infection control, e.g., glucometer, refrigerator, sharps containers, laboratory cleanliness, pests in facility, hand washing and flu campaign.
• Manage medication storage, medication returns, medication destruction, and calling pharmacy to resolve medication issues.
• Order supplies, manage inventory, and maintain/organize the supply room.
• Monitor and track lab orders, monitor and track outside consults, and track medical transfers.
• Coordinate and plan the admission workflow, print Integra and Care 360 requisitions, and assure collected samples are properly labeled.
• Manage Level of Care transfers in AVATAR.
• Perform administrative functions, e.g., scanning documents into AVATAR, assisting with the work schedule, assisting BHT’s with the creation/modification of observation sheets.
• Conduct admission and discharge audits. Check/audit the proper completion of any nursing procedure (at discretion of DON) to assure compliance.
• Coordinate the Vivitrol program as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain the daily scheduling of units according to approved ratios based on census.
• Collaborate with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for quality patient care delivery.
• Ensure appropriate nurse staffing levels are maintained at all times during a State of Emergency and may be required to remain on-site throughout the State of Emergency period.
