About The Position

West Chester University of Pennsylvania College of Education and Social Work (CESW) invites applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Instructional Technology. This position may require the ability to work occasional evening hours to support faculty and students. The Assistant Director of Instructional Technology will serve as a technology coach for the use of in-person instructional technology in the College of Education and Social Work by partnering with CESW faculty to increase pedagogically sound technology use in the classroom. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high-volume environment; technology proficiency; and the ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally and interact dynamically with a variety of constituents. They will be a clear and engaging communicator who takes initiative, approaches challenges thoughtfully and contributes to continuous process improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Experience utilizing educational technology to develop and support learning activities.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in educational technology, Instructional Design, Education or related field
Demonstrated knowledge of digital accessibility
Supervisory experience
Experience with student information systems and document management systems used in higher education such as PeopleSoft, Banner, SharePoint, Adobe Contribute, OU Campus, and D2L

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CESW Technology Center
Provide timely in-class technology support and troubleshoot for instructional technology tools
Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technology tools, instructional approaches and best practices
Train and supervise student workers, including graduate assistants and work-study students to provide classroom and instructional technology support
Develop and support learning activities with one or more of the following tools: Nearpod, Hypothes.is, Padlet, H5P
Develop and deliver technology workshops for CESW faculty, staff, and students as requested
Maintain current knowledge of K–12 and higher education instructional technologies
Coordinate equipment loans and returns, troubleshoot technology, and ensure equipment is maintained and available for use
Manage and maintain CESW technology and equipment including 3D printers, iPad carts, Sphero robots, loaner laptops, and other instructional technology
Develop, maintain and organize an instructional technology documentation library such as resources, guides, and support materials for CESW faculty, staff, and students
Perform other duties as assigned.
