About The Position

Northeast State Community College is seeking an Assistant Director of High School Programs to provide administrative and operational leadership for various high school initiatives, including dual enrollment, Middle College, Career and Technical Education, and partnership programs. This role involves overseeing grant activities (Perkins V and Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant), managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with the Tennessee Board of Regents. The Assistant Director will act as a liaison between the college and high schools, managing dual credit agreements, curriculum alignment, student enrollment, advising, and recruitment. The position also supports student records, registration, business office functions, and marketing efforts to ensure the effective delivery and growth of High School Programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Two years of administrative or supervisory experience in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated experience specific to grant writing, management, support, or coordinating grant-related activities in an educational and/or nonprofit environment

Responsibilities

  • Assists with scheduling planning, marketing, and registration visits with participating high schools for High School Programs.
  • Assists the Director in Middle College planning and coordination as assigned.
  • Oversees all Perkins V grant-related activities and budgets, including annual and monthly reporting and Perkins-required event planning.
  • Works with Perkins V TBR administrative staff and attends TBR-scheduled meetings via Microsoft Teams or in Nashville.
  • Supervises the Career and Technical Education Specialist position.
  • Coordinates the Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant, including grant benchmarks, budget, and events.
  • Coordinates with appropriate deans to ensure equipment/supply needs are provided via Perkins funds.
  • Develops formal dual credit agreements with service area high schools on behalf of the College.
  • Manages curriculum alignment meetings between the College and high school Career and Technical Education faculty to improve student success and support articulation.
  • Oversees articulation testing and maintains resulting records.
  • Assists with ensuring all required student documents are received by the Office of Admissions and Records for application completion.
  • Corresponds with parents and students regarding all aspects of application and dual enrollment grant processes.
  • Assists with the coordination of marketing initiatives, parent nights, student interest meetings, and counselor/principal meetings with participating high schools.
  • Advises on-campus dual enrollment students, including home-school students.
  • Assists with the provision of business office services by creating and disseminating individualized invoice documents for dual enrollment students and ensuring payment.
  • Assists with verification and certification of all dual enrollment students in Tennessee Higher Education Commission’s FAST portal in conjunction with the Director of HSP.
  • Provides support to the Director of HSP.
  • Assists in developing HSP marketing and promotional materials.
  • Registers dual enrollment students in Banner, utilizing mass registration as required.
  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of a database containing student data required for mass mailings and grant verification.
  • Assists with building dual enrollment classes in Banner, ensuring classes are built according to procedure and reflecting appropriate parts of term.
  • Assists with ensuring adequate class coverage in the event of an instructor's absence by serving as a substitute.
  • Completes updates to the Dual Enrollment Handbook as directed.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Dean of Multi-Campus Programs, including temporary assignment to any Northeast State campus.
