About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director of Graduate Marketing & Communications, the Assistant Director of Graduate Marketing & Communications supports the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing initiatives and recruitment events designed to advance graduate enrollment goals. This role plays a key operational and strategic function within the Office of Graduate Admissions, translating enrollment strategy into actionable campaigns, communications, and recruitment experiences. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with academic departments, University Communications and Marketing, campus partners, and student employees to ensure cohesive, data-informed, and measurable outreach across the graduate enrollment funnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in enrollment marketing, admissions, communications, or a related area, preferably in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, with preference for Slate.
  • Experience developing and executing communication or marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience creating marketing materials such as flyers or digital promotional assets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to marketing and recruitment strategies.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and campus partners.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of comprehensive enrollment marketing and communication strategies aligned with graduate recruitment priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to implement multi-channel communication campaigns that engage prospective students and support conversion from inquiry to application.
  • Utilize Slate CRM to create, manage, and maintain all graduate recruitment events in the Slate event calendar, including event setup, communications, tracking, and reporting.
  • Analyze marketing and event performance data, including engagement metrics and attendance trends, and apply insights to improve future outreach.
  • Contribute to regular reporting and dashboards that support data-informed enrollment decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary point person for the planning, coordination, marketing, and execution of all on-campus graduate recruitment and engagement events, including the Graduate Program Showcase, Homecoming, Student Appreciation Week, and other special on-campus initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of on-campus events, coordinating logistics, timelines, communications, staffing, and campus partnerships to ensure consistent, high-quality recruitment experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to support the planning and execution of large-scale virtual recruitment events, including the Virtual Graduate Open House.
  • Ensure event marketing, communications, and execution align with broader enrollment and messaging strategies.
  • Create marketing materials to support recruitment initiatives, including flyers, digital graphics, and promotional assets for events and programs.
  • Collaborate with University Communications and Marketing to ensure all materials align with institutional brand, voice, and visual standards.
  • Develop and manage program-level marketing content, including email messaging, event promotions, and digital assets.
  • Identify opportunities to highlight student, alumni, and faculty stories that support program value and recruitment messaging.
  • Work closely with and provide day-to-day supervision, training, and guidance to student employees supporting marketing and event initiatives.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to faculty, academic departments, and campus offices in support of graduate recruitment efforts.
  • Act as operational backup to the Associate Director as needed.
  • Serve on university committees and participate in cross-functional initiatives related to enrollment, marketing, or recruitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
