About The Position
Apple Valley Village Health Care Center, a Cassia community, is hiring an Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about food. At Apple Valley Village Health Care Center you’ll work in a welcoming, resident-focused environment where your leadership, creativity, and commitment to quality are truly valued. In this role, you will assist the Food & Nutrition Services Director with leading the overall operations of the department. You will also ensure our residents receive a first-class dining experience through supervising and staffing exceptional dietary aides and cooks. The ideal candidate brings prior food service leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for serving older adults while building an engaged, high-performing team.
Requirements
- ServSafe certificate required or obtained upon hire.
- Large scale batch cooking experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of local, state and federal food service regulations, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate nutritional care is provided to all residents.
- Coordinate with home office dietitians to plan meals at the facility.
- Oversee daily operations of the Culinary Services department.
- Guarantee meals, snacks, and supplements are planned, prepared, and served to residents in a pleasant atmosphere.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise department staff.
- Prepare employee schedules, maintain attendance records, and approve payroll.
- Promote special food events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.) for residents and guests.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
