Columbia Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join The SOMM Hotel & Spa. This role is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and controlling Food and Beverage operations to ensure profitability, efficient operations, and adherence to established standards for all food outlets, including Bin 47, The Shed, Blending Room, & Banquets. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain high standards for food and beverage quality, presentation, handling, sanitation, and safety, aligning with property standards and applicable regulations. This position involves developing and implementing policies and procedures, participating in the annual operating budget and financial plans, and managing budgeted supply and labor costs. The role also requires conducting industry research, ensuring the security of Food & Beverage supplies and inventory, and maintaining clear communication with all departments. The Assistant Director will oversee frequent inspections of dining, kitchen, and storage areas, report unsafe conditions, ensure equipment is properly maintained and used as intended, and participate in the Manager on Duty and Lobby Ambassador program. A key aspect of this role is selecting, supervising, training, developing, scheduling, disciplining, and counseling staff, demonstrating positive leadership to empower employees and providing timely performance assessments. The Assistant Director may also perform in the capacity of any supervised position and conduct training on job and Marriott standards.
