About The Position

The gorgeous Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui, Grand Wailea, is looking for an Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to join the Food and Beverage team! Located on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, this Forbes 4-Star, AAA 4-Diamond property is consistently ranked among the world's best resorts with 780 rooms, 100,000 square feet of banquet space, and 7 food and beverage outlets. This includes 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a cafe, and in-room dining. At Waldorf Astoria, we create unforgettable experiences for our guests, meaningful opportunities for our Team Members, and a positive impact in our community. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Food and Beverage and oversee the property’s banquet and outlet operation. You will oversee a team of 19 leaders and 250+ Front-of-House team members.

Requirements

  • At least 2–3 years of multi-outlet leadership experience
  • Hands-on, driven leader with a strong presence in the operation
  • Strong beverage knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience managing in a unionized work environment is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a Forbes-rated hotel highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support F&B operational strategy: Assist in overseeing operations of the Food & Beverage department, focusing on guest service excellence, product quality, inventory control, outlet reservations, systems management, and financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Drive guest satisfaction strategy: Lead the development and implementation of guest satisfaction strategies, monitoring trends, gathering feedback, and driving continuous improvements to elevate the guest experience
  • Contribute to revenue growth: Collaborate with the F&B Director and Culinary team to develop and implement creative menus and effective food and beverage marketing strategies
  • Cultivate a high-performing team: Drive engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs
  • Uphold regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member wellbeing
