About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director of Financial Aid, this position is responsible for supervising programs in the Financial Aid Department and assists the Director of Financial Aid in developing, planning and administering the overall financial aid operations. This role involves overseeing the awarding of state and federal aid to eligible students according to regulations and policy, managing campus-based funding, and assisting with staff selection and evaluation. The position requires excellent customer service, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, is requested. The role also involves counseling students and parents, running reports, interacting with other departments, and managing the Financial Aid team to meet department metrics. Regular, in-person attendance on campus/on site is an essential function of this position, requiring on-site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Financial Aid experience
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with the capability to multi-task
  • Computer knowledge is requested, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Supervising programs in the Financial Aid Department
  • Assisting the Director of Financial Aid in developing, planning and administering the overall financial aid operations
  • Overseeing the awarding of state and federal aid to eligible students according to regulations and policy
  • Enforcing department policies, procedures, goals and objectives
  • Assuming departmental responsibility in absence of the Director
  • Assisting with file review
  • Managing campus-based funding including Federal Work Study and FSEOG
  • Assisting with training and development of the team
  • Assisting with staff selection and evaluation
  • Counseling students and parents as needed
  • Performing special assignments as needed
  • Performing related duties as required
  • Running reports to ensure department integrity
  • Interacting with other departments to assist students
  • Assisting with private loans and institutional payment plan
  • Managing Financial Aid team to department metrics
