About The Position

Vi is seeking an accomplished facilities professional for its Palo Alto location. The Assistant Director supervises maintenance staff and assists with maintaining the mechanical functioning of the building structure and systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents and guests. The role is responsible for operating the department in the Director's absence.

Requirements

At least 7 years of progressive experience in building maintenance or equivalent.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance department.
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Valid driver's license, where applicable.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle hand and power tools correctly and safely.
Thorough knowledge of construction and the building trades.
Understanding of local and federal regulations and proven knowledge of acceptable industry standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of project management and scheduling.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with contractors, bid documents, insurance requirements, contracts, invoicing, and budgetary guidelines.
Universal Refrigerant certification.
AFE (Association of Facility Engineers) Plant Supervisor certification.

Responsibilities
