About The Position

The Assistant Director of Enrollment Management reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and supports the recruitment, evaluation, enrollment and retention of prospective students and families across grades PK–12, with primary responsibility for Middle School admissions. The Assistant Director builds strong relationships with prospective families throughout the enrollment process and helps develop and execute strategies to increase awareness of Durham Academy, strengthen the enrollment pipeline and support the school’s enrollment goals. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three or more years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, marketing, communications, education or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong digital and data literacy; experience with Veracross or another admissions/CRM platform preferred.
  • Ability to analyze enrollment data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.

  • Flexibility to participate in occasional evening and weekend admissions events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key aspects of the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment, including family communication, interviews, student visits, tours, assessments and follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary Enrollment Management contact for Middle School prospective families while also supporting PK–12 admissions initiatives as needed.
  • Serve on and help lead the Middle School Admissions Committee, including reviewing applicant files, making admission recommendations and assisting with the selection and training of committee members.
  • Oversee ISEE testing and other screening processes for Middle and Upper School applicants.
  • Lead Middle School weekly prospective-family tours and the Student Ambassador Program.
  • Spearhead the new-student mentor/mentee program and coordinate new-family events.
  • Develop and implement enrollment marketing and communication strategies to grow the prospective-family pipeline, strengthen engagement and support conversion from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Partner with Communications and Marketing to develop compelling enrollment messaging, digital content and storytelling that effectively communicates Durham Academy’s programs, community and value proposition.
  • Maintain accurate admissions data and develop reports, surveys and dashboards to monitor the enrollment funnel.
  • Analyze enrollment trends, recruitment sources, event participation, family feedback and marketing effectiveness to inform enrollment strategy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead retention and transition programming for students and families and support new-family onboarding and re-enrollment initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management.
