About The Position
Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering for the Barton Creek Resort & Spa. This role provides technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering Services and supports the operational aspects of the Engineering Department.
Requirements
- Extensive HVAC, electrical, and mechanical experience.
- High level knowledge in plumbing, ice machines, and chillers.
- High level knowledge in fire systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- 3-5 years of hotel engineering experience.
- Previous experience at a convention service hotel.
- Experience managing a crew of 20 or more.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Engineering Services in the full upkeep of preventative maintenance, including keeping logs on work done, scheduling, and assignment of projects.
- Assist the Director of Engineering Services in the procurement of supplies and issuance of purchase orders.
- Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
- Maintain up-to-date inventories of heat, light & power and repair and maintenance supplies.
- Respond to guest requests.
- Work with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and coordinate their activities.
- Assume full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering Services.
- Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
- Have a thorough understanding of Omni's job scenarios.
- Be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures.
