About The Position

The Assistant Director of Engineering assists with oversight of the hotel facility and monitors and controls parts and labor expenditures. The role helps manage the department within budget, forecast expenses accurately, and prepare the annual department budget. It also helps ensure department staff are trained in Internal Audit control procedures and follow them consistently. The position assists with selecting, training, and developing employees to deliver committed customer service by soliciting and responding promptly to guest needs. A hands-on leadership approach is required at all times.

Requirements

Fluent ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
3–5 years of hotel, institutional, or HVAC systems experience.
Refrigeration and HVAC certification.
2–4 years of management or supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems, preventative maintenance systems, and related engineering disciplines.
Budget management, cost control, and financial responsibility experience.
CPR certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others.

Nice To Haves

Stationary engineering license preferred.
