Assistant Director of Dining - Independent Living
About The Position
Peter Becker Community is seeking an Assistant Director of Dining to lead dining service, events, and resident experiences at Maplewood Estates, our vibrant Independent Living campus. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys blending hospitality, customer service, event management, and leadership to create memorable experiences for residents, families, and guests. Peter Becker Community is a faith-based, nonprofit continuing care retirement community located in Montgomery County, PA. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of experience in hospitality management, catering, event planning, restaurant management, or a related field
- Experience leading and developing service teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
- A passion for creating outstanding experiences for older adults and their guests
Nice To Haves
- Hospitality, Event Management, or related education preferred
- Experience coordinating catering functions and special events preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead hospitality operations for Maplewood Estates, ensuring exceptional resident and guest experiences
- Plan, coordinate, and execute resident events, special functions, and community celebrations
- Oversee catering services for private events, meetings, and campus gatherings
- Manage and develop a team of servers, providing coaching, training, and performance support
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to create memorable dining and event experiences
- Ensure dining rooms, events, and hospitality services consistently reflect high standards of service excellence
- Coordinate event logistics, staffing, room setups, and service execution from start to finish
- Build strong relationships with residents and families while responding to feedback and enhancing satisfaction
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and operational planning to support efficient service delivery
- Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the department
