The Assistant Director of Development, W.P. Carey School of Business, is primarily externally focused, responsible for engaging a portfolio of individuals, corporations, and foundations with potential affinity for ASU. Effectiveness will be evaluated on the ability to achieve financial goals and contact metrics. This role involves creating fundraising and engagement efforts for specific departments and centers within the W. P. Carey School of Business, such as the Department of Information Systems, Center for AI and Data Analytics, Department of Marketing, Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, and The School of Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (T.I.E.). The position requires actively engaging donors, alumni, faculty, staff, and students, managing a personal portfolio with a focus on securing gifts of $50,000 or more, aiming for an annual fundraising goal of $500,000-$1 million. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including faculty, directors, and other fundraisers, is essential to maximize philanthropic potential. The role involves developing proposals, budgets, and collateral materials, assisting in strategic fundraising efforts, and utilizing the ASU Foundation (ASUF) prospect management system (Salesforce). Proper stewardship and recognition of donors are key, as is participation in campaign planning and implementation. The Assistant Director will also serve as a resource to development colleagues and establish strong working relationships with academic leadership.
