About The Position

Tapestry Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking an Assistant Director of Clinical Services to establish, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for hospice services. This role contributes to the overall organization and philosophy by ensuring quality standards are met. The Patient Care Manager directs nursing staff and operations, manages nursing activities, assists with program goals and objectives, develops and reviews policies, interprets laws, evaluates staff, prepares the nursing budget, maintains contact with relevant individuals, conducts rounds to ensure quality care, intervenes in crises, investigates incidents, protects patient and staff rights, and compiles data for nursing reports. The position requires the ability to provide coverage across Rome and Calhoun territories as needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families.
  • Understanding of palliative and hospice care.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of the special needs to patients and families.
  • Knowledge of providing palliative services.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent phone skills.
  • Documentation and program management skills.
  • Knowledge of general palliative practice.
  • Thorough knowledge of managed care principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, JCAHO, and human resource) management principles.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field.
  • CPR Certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to effectively operate computer, facsimile equipment, copier, and cell phone.
  • Strong understanding and practical application with Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to exchange routine information in an appropriate manner.
  • Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and use critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage emotional stresses effectively.
  • Ability to bend, lift and stoop.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice or Palliative nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
