About The Position

The City of Woodstock is recruiting for a newly created Assistant Director of Building and Planning in the Building and Planning - Development Services Department. Under general supervision, the Assistant Director assists the Building and Planning Director with the department’s ongoing operations. The role provides leadership and supervision to assigned staff and oversees development review activities, including zoning and subdivision administration. The position works under the supervision of the Building and Planning Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Architecture, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in municipal planning; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Experience supervising and leading a team.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and an acceptable driving record for eligibility for City auto insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is desirable.
