About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Director of Assessment and Crisis to join the Wellness Center Mental Health Services (WCMHS) team. This role involves providing both clinical and non-clinical services to UCCS students, focusing on psychological and counseling services that impact academic performance. The position is located in Colorado Springs, a city known for its natural beauty and growing tech scene. The salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an Exempt position, not eligible for overtime.

Requirements

  • Experience with psychological, educational, and neuropsychological assessments (administration, report-writing, and feedback).
  • Experience providing clinical assessment supervision for trainees.
  • Experience with risk assessment and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Experience in creating and implementing processes for an organization or team.
  • Experience with common psychological disorders and developmental/academic challenges of college students.
  • Experience with short-term psychotherapy modalities in individual, group, couple, and family therapy formats.
  • Experience with supervising graduate students with various levels of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with effective data collection and articulating findings.
  • Ability to create and deliver psychoeducational presentations to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Active Colorado psychologist license or eligibility to obtain within 3 months of employment.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or Doctor of Psychology degree.

  • Fluency in Spanish and ability to provide clinical services in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of neuropsychological offerings, including educational materials.
  • Adapting neuropsychological offerings as needed and creating an annual budget for assessment services.
  • Managing income and expenses for all assessment needs and operating testing services.
  • Overseeing all testing online materials, equipment, and assessments.
  • Expanding assessment services and tools throughout mental health services.
  • Partnering with the WCMHS Director of Clinical Training (DCT) to provide training and supervision for trainees in testing services.
  • Partnering with UCCS Disability Services for testing services impacting student accommodations and providing education to the Disability Services team.
  • Developing a crisis/emergency plan, training staff/trainees, and evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Responding to psychological crises/emergency walk-ins or calls, conducting assessments, and performing interventions.
  • Contributing to the on-call duties of WCMHS clinicians.
  • Developing and implementing data collection strategies for Mental Health Service data.
  • Analyzing collected data to inform service decisions based on outcomes.
  • Assisting with billing of non-Wellness Center units/agencies when needed.
  • Providing psychotherapy services in individual, group, couple, and family therapy formats.
  • Making appropriate referrals to on- and off-campus services when clinically necessary.
  • Contributing to case consultations with referral agencies.
  • Providing required support services for referrals from other university offices and assisting other clinicians.
  • Sharing the clinical supervision load of graduate students, predoctoral psychology interns, and post-doctoral fellows.
  • Participating in supervision consultation and training.
  • Attending staff and administrative meetings related to position responsibilities.
  • Maintaining accurate information on the WCMHS website and leading WCMHS materials used around campus.
  • Coordinating campus-wide education and prevention programs and assisting in addressing campus developmental needs.
