The College of Engineering seeks an experienced professional with a background in event management, project management, communications, marketing, or related fields to join our team as an Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, this position is an integral member of the college’s Advancement team. This position will be primarily responsible for providing logistical support for broad-based and targeted engagement efforts to engage multiple audiences, including the college’s more than 84,000 alumni, as well as donors and current students of the College of Engineering. Through strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration, this position plays a vital role in delivering well executed engagement programs that advance the mission of the College of Engineering. This position focuses on logistical planning and event execution for events and programs to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery to strengthen engagement with the college. Working with partners across campus, the position develops on campus programs to be highlighted through university-wide engagement programs. Additionally, the role provides logistical and administrative support for the college’s Young Alumni Council, including meeting coordination and assistance with committee activities. The position ensures that all logistics align with university standards and established procedures. Coordinating promotion for engagement events, the position creates emails and collaborates with the communications team, working closely with the college’s advancement communications manager and social media manager, to successfully promote events and engage alumni. The position also manages the college’s alumni email account and the Engineering Alumni LinkedIn presence to communicate with alumni about events and engagement opportunities. The Assistant Director also contributes to advancement operations through event management in the alumni database and takes utmost care in handling confidential information. Evening, weekend, and travel commitments are required to support on-campus, as well as regional and national events. This individual is an important liaison between the college and University Advancement, departments, and external constituents and must be able to thrive in complex, collaborative environments.
