About The Position

The Georges Student Center seeks to hire an Assistant Director of Advising Technology, a role designed to support students through technology. This position is crucial to the University's ongoing implementation of Stellic, an advising support platform launched in 2023 to enhance the student advising experience. As part of a cross-unit team, the Assistant Director will collaborate closely to support the adoption, effective use, and implementation of additional functionalities for Stellic across the University. The role will specifically focus on areas of the system related to advisors’ interactions with students, the policies governing information flow within the system, onboarding and supporting advisors, and assessing the system’s use and effectiveness. This work demands a high level of collaboration, proactive communication, forward thinking, and meticulous attention to detail. The broader team includes staff from Information Technology Systems (ITS) and the Office of the University Registrar (UREG), requiring frequent collaboration with colleagues in schools, Student Affairs, and the vendor. The Assistant Director will work closely with teams in schools and central units to understand their unique operational practices and determine how Stellic’s tools can best support their needs. A primary responsibility will be the maintenance and development of effective training materials. While communication with collaborators and stakeholders is a significant component, the role also requires the ability to operate independently on tasks demanding precision and careful attention to detail.
