About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement, assist in implementing the ongoing advancement plan with specific responsibility for all Major Giving, and work closely with the Director of Advancement on any fundraising campaigns, strategic planning and other initiatives. Responsible for the comprehensive implementation of the Major and General Giving programs for current parents, alumni families, alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school. Track solicitation activity and report on progress of capital and endowment campaigns. Guide and support volunteer meetings. Develop campaign strategy and implement mail campaigns to targeted constituents. Support capital campaign efforts with prospect research, prospect tracking, revenue pipelines, gift reporting, and stewardship specific to donors and foundations. Work with the Database Manager to keep accurate prospect and donor records, and oversee weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for campaigns. Manage all grant writing for foundations and granting institutions. Assist in the coordination of cultivation and stewardship events. Work with the Director of Annual Fund to develop an annual strategy and oversee annual fundraising efforts. Work with the Advancement team to manage priority prospects and share findings in a coordinated effort to solicit effectively and efficiently using Moves Management. Work with the Director of Annual Giving and Director of Communications to produce the Annual Report and fundraising collaterals. Develop and execute a planned giving plan, including specific goals and timetables, to market, cultivate, solicit, and recognize gifts of estates, trusts, real estate, and various other financial vehicles that reflect financial planning and deferred giving opportunities. Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Business Office to ensure that all systems and processes, from gift documentation to reporting, are accurate and tailored to align with the needs of the school and the donors. Oversee recordkeeping and manage data analytics for all fundraising campaigns. Contribute in Advancement Department meetings to the strategy and implementation of ongoing fundraising programs. Responsible for recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship of volunteers who are part of the fundraising and volunteer programs. Represent CEE at CASE/NAIS, CAPS and other relevant professional organizations and conferences. Support all advancement events. Communicate respectfully, clearly, and honestly in verbal, electronic, and written form with parents, administrators, and colleagues, and maintain a sensitive, cooperative, and flexible demeanor in interactions. Positively contribute to the schoolwide community. Demonstrate professionalism through reliability, punctuality, and personal appearance and self-care, and maintain personal integrity and a respectful attitude in all relationships, and positively contribute to the school community. Provide for the physical safety of children through anticipation and removal of hazards, visual observation of children active or at rest, and by appropriately responding to injuries. Follow all personnel policies and the guidelines of the Emergency Response Plans, and take responsibility for students' safety in an emergency situation or drill.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Eight or more years of experience in school or nonprofit organization
  • Experience in solicitation, constituency development, stewardship, and volunteer management
  • Experience with annual, capital, and planned giving
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents, professional literature, and other material.
  • Ability to write reports and letters.
  • Ability to verbally present information and respond to children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues.
  • High comfort level and proficiency with technology as a communication tool.
  • Ability to use simple tools and machines, such as copiers and laminators.
  • Ability to use computers to write reports, compose letters and emails, create documents, and communicate with parents.
  • Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
  • Willingness to provide own general clerical support.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense and good judgment in dealing with everyday and emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb; to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
