About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the delivery of high-quality resident care within Trinity Homes. This role assists with guiding clinical operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal long-term care regulations, and reinforcing a resident-centered approach aligned with Trinity Health’s Mission and values. Working closely with nursing staff, the Assistant Director of Nursing helps maintain consistent standards of practice, encourages effective communication, and contributes to a positive, collaborative team environment. The position also supports planning and management of departmental resources to promote safe, efficient, and compassionate care for residents.

Requirements

  • Current North Dakota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as evidenced by nursing license
  • Demonstrated evidence of dependability, initiative, and strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are needed to assess residents, review documentation, and communicate effectively in a fast paced long term care environment.
  • Adherence to infectionprevention practices, safety procedures, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment is required at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous swing bed and/or long term care experience preferred but not required
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience preferred but not required
  • Basic computer skills preferred, such as word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily nursing operations to ensure consistent, high quality resident care and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices to promote resident safety and wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to nursing staff, including coaching, performance feedback, and support for professional development.
  • Participate in care planning, resident assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration to address resident needs and enhance outcomes.
  • Monitor staffing levels, workflow, and resource utilization to maintain efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, survey readiness activities, and corrective action processes as needed.
