The Assistant Director will assist the director in implementing a student conduct system which aligns with the University Mission and Aims to build disciples of Jesus Christ and strives to protect the educational environment for all members of the BYU community. This position is responsible for teaching the campus community, including faculty, staff and students, how to interpret and apply principle-based Honor Code standards. The university relies on the Assistant Director as a subject-matter expert in the field of student conduct, including educating the campus about student conduct and how this work aligns and differs from other campuses. The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising administrators and coordinating the internal training and professional development opportunities for the HCO staff. This Assistant Director oversees the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes. In the case that the Director of the HCO is unavailable or out of the office, the Assistant Director will make administrative decisions. The Assistant Director will also have an allotment of HC cases to investigate along with the administrative responsibilities. The Assistant Director will investigate reports of HC violations and help students become accountable through an educational process that allows for personal change and growth.
