About The Position

The Assistant Director for Student Organizations and Club Sports leads the development and day-to-day support of a large, diverse portfolio of student organizations, while also providing oversight for the College's club sports program. This role works closely with student leaders, advisors, and campus partners to foster a vibrant co-curricular experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelors required, Masters preferred
  • 3-5 years experience working with student organizations or club sports (graduate assistantship experience applicable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support a diverse student body with a focus on equity and inclusion
  • Ability to function successfully as part of a team with overlapping and disparate responsibilities
  • Experience with budget tracking, assessment, and policy review
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of over 130 student organizations and 15 club sports and provides supervision to the team of Student Organization Coordinators.
  • Meets regularly with student organization leaders to support student organization registration and re-registration processes and manage compliance to remain in good standing and mitigate risk.
  • Develops and leads a comprehensive training program and provides support for student organization leaders.
  • Educates student leaders about College policy, including but not limited to event planning requirements, hazing and non-discrimination infractions, and financial responsibilities.
  • Administers the College’s student engagement platform (currently MiddPresence) to manage student org records, processes, and support student involvement.
  • Provides oversight and supports all aspects of the College’s club sports program including supervision of part-time coaches.
  • Approves all org travel/schedules, club sports competitions, and on-campus tournaments and ensures existing club sports teams comply with all relevant College policies and takes group and/or individual corrective or disciplinary action as necessary should policies not be followed.
