About The Position

This Assistant Director for Campus Engagement serves as a leader within the department, directly supervising two full-time Coordinators and overseeing the entirety of the Student Programming Team. This position is responsible for leading large, mid, and small-scale event management, supporting CSE student leader & community development, and supporting assessment initiatives. Also, this position directly oversees or supports the over 100 events hosted annually in the CSE. Finally, this position supports Homecoming initiatives, including all department hosted events, typically around 10.

Requirements

Master’s Degree
3 yrs of experience within student activities, student organization advising, campus event planning, or related area. 2 yrs of graduate assistantship equates to 1 full-time year of experience.

Responsibilities

Recruitment, onboarding, training, evaluation, and leadership development of two full-time professionals
Serve as the primary supervisor for the Student Programming Team, comprised of two other full-time professionals, Student Engagement Ambassadors, and event support team members
Attend and conduct weekly meetings of the Student Programming Team
Co-lead recognition and award efforts for the Student Engagement Ambassador team
Oversees large-scale, campus-wide event planning processes, financial resource allocation, and training
Support assessment projects and data-reporting
Create a culture of community amongst supervisors by leading bi-weekly, supervisor team meetings, and one supervisor retreat per semester
Cultivate talent development of professional and student staff
Support CSE student leader recruitment, on-boarding, and community development
Lead the creation, planning, and execution of a daytime programming series
Lead recruitment and training of the CSE Event Support Team
Lead assessment initiatives with student leaders for all events hosted by the Student Programming Team: individual event assessment, overall calendar of events, event support team onboarding program assessment, SEA team evaluations, event support team experience, and leadership development outcomes
Supports Homecoming initiatives
Work with other campus departments on intentional calendar planning and collaboration events
Provide support in identifying and executing sponsorship opportunities with external constituents
Serve as the primary contact with talent agencies, managers, and Food City Center staff for all large-scale concerts and speakers
Serve on university and Student Life committees
