About The Position

The Assistant Director Facility Support Services is responsible for the proper maintenance and security of all contracted government provided facilities and equipment. This position also ensures that all facilities and equipment are maintained in accordance with contract requirements. This role implements strategy for all facilities related to supply and support. It oversees daily operations, directs staff in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. The position maintains the operating budget and manages expenses, and communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in the English language.
  • Ability to think and react calmly and responsibly to emergency situations and recommend solutions for work problems.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations. Computer knowledge and MS Office software required.
  • Must be a US Citizen, as defined by US Navy security guidelines
  • Required to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 90 days of date of hire, pursuant to US Navy security guidelines. Inability to obtain CAC card may result in removal and/or termination from position.
  • A REAL ID-compliant driver’s license is required for access to the naval base and for employment. Candidates must provide proof of this identification.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and Developing Talent: Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff. Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
  • Project and Change Management: Plans and manages projects and improvement initiatives of moderate to high complexity related to departmental function. Manages change with direct reports (if applicable) and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
  • Community Engagement: Champions and engages with community relations efforts, links outcomes to employee engagement.
  • Provide oversight and management of all facilities related supply & support.
  • Responsible for the proper maintenance of all government provided facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures all facilities and equipment are maintained in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Direct the cleaning, environmental and custodial services.
  • Ensure procurement requests are acted on in a timely manner and are in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide oversight and management of government provided equipment. Direct scheduled and spot inventories, document new equipment and dispose of excess, obsolete or broken equipment.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
