About The Position

Kids & Company operates 120+ childcare centres across Canada and continues to grow. We are dedicated to providing high-quality childcare that supports families and promotes a healthy work-life balance. We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Assistant Director / ECE Float & Breaker to support the daily operations of our Morgan Crossing centre. This role combines leadership support with hands-on classroom coverage across multiple age groups, ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent, high-quality care.

Requirements

Valid ECE certification recognized in British Columbia (ECE or ECE IT/SN an asset)
Experience in childcare
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work across different classrooms and age groups
Valid First Aid & CPR-C
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
Up-to-date immunizations (including TB test)
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs

Nice To Haves

leadership or supervisory experience is an asset

Responsibilities

Support the Centre Director with daily operations and licensing requirements
Act as a float and breaker to maintain ratios and provide classroom coverage
Support children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development
Assist in implementing an emergent curriculum
Maintain attendance records, documentation, and health & safety checks
Assist with child and staff files and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., speech or occupational therapists)
Participate in and help lead staff meetings and training sessions
Support transitions and daily routines across classrooms
