About The Position

Chartwells K12 aims to ensure students leave the cafeteria happier and healthier by providing food kids enjoy and developing custom dining programs. With over 16,000 associates across 4,500 schools, Chartwells K12 leverages extensive experience in food, education, and operations, driven by top talent in culinary, nutrition, wellness, and sustainability. This role seeks a high-energy leader with a passion for food and children to serve as an Assistant Director of Dining Services for a K-12 nutrition program at Hondo ISD in Hondo, TX. The Assistant Director will help oversee dining operations across four schools, serving more than 1,700 students, and support a team of up to 13 associates in delivering nutritious and engaging meals. It is a hands-on and rewarding position for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys creating positive cafeteria experiences for students.

Requirements

1 to 3 years of food service supervisory or lead experience.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Financial experience and business acumen skills.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree is preferred.
