About The Position

This position provides technical oversight and strategic management of the CFO Intelligence & Analytics (CIA) Suite. The role leads data initiatives related to management, analytics, and reporting within the CFO Division. The Assistant Director will oversee the design and implementation of data solutions, including reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support financial planning, decision-making, and business intelligence. Collaboration with CFO leadership is key to identifying data needs and delivering data-driven solutions. The role involves identifying alignment opportunities, evaluating AI tools, and ensuring the technical performance and reliability of CIA Suite tools. Maintaining business continuity of the CIA Suite during large-scale transformation projects is also a responsibility. Additionally, the position involves developing and implementing data governance policies, managing databases, establishing governance strategies for access, and ensuring data practices align with institutional policies and best practices. Building relationships with data owners, coordinating with technical resources, and representing the CFO Division on university-level workgroups are important liaison duties. The role also supports campus stakeholders in adopting and using CIA Suite tools through meetings, workshops, trainings, and developing resources to improve data literacy. Special projects and other duties as assigned by CFO Division leadership are also part of the role.

Requirements

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
Experience with financial data, reporting and supporting strategic decision-making.

Master's degree in information systems, data analytics, data science or other relevant field.
5+ years of experience in data management, analytics or business intelligence, preferable in higher education setting
Experience with financial data at the University of Florida, along with UF systems and applications

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight and strategic management of the CFO Intelligence & Analytics (CIA) Suite.
Lead data initiatives related to management, analytics, and reporting within the CFO Division.
Oversee the design and implementation of data solutions, including reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support financial planning, decision-making, and business intelligence.
Collaborate with CFO leadership to identify data needs and deliver data-driven solutions to address business challenges.
Identify alignment opportunities to leverage existing resources and determine when new solutions are required.
Evaluate and enable the use of AI tools when appropriate.
Ensure the technical performance and reliability of CIA Suite tools and outputs.
Maintain business continuity of the CIA Suite during the Workday implementation and other large-scale transformation projects.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
Own and manage the PUB_FINANCE_DATA_STEWARDS database and future databases.
Establish governance strategies for database and tool access.
Ensure data practices align with UFIT initiatives, institutional policies, and industry best practices.
Build and sustain strong relationships with CFO Division and campus data owners.
Coordinate with UFIT technical resources to support analytics projects.
Represent the CFO Division on university-level reporting workgroups, as needed.
Support campus stakeholders in adopting and using CIA Suite tools.
Host meetings, workshops, and trainings to promote tool adoption.
Develop toolkits, resources, and instructional videos to improve data literacy and tool usage.
Execute special projects and initiatives as assigned by CFO Division leadership.
