Assistant Director, Continuing Education

About The Position

Responsible for the development, implementation, promotion, evaluation, and continuous improvement of continuing education courses open to the public and contract training throughout southeast Nebraska. This role involves assessing program needs, managing staff and budgets, marketing program activities, and participating in division management to achieve departmental goals. The Assistant Director will also foster a culture of belonging and support college policies related to diversity and equal opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of relevant full-time experience.
  • OR Associate’s Degree plus four years of relevant full-time experience and two (2) years of experience in supervision or management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, promote, evaluate, and continuously improve continuing education offerings.
  • Assess program and course needs through collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain all pertinent records for courses.
  • Develop program goals and objectives.
  • Lead, supervise, evaluate, and hire staff, faculty, and speakers.
  • Establish salaries and initiate payroll.
  • Ensure completion of required personnel records.
  • Prepare, justify, and control the program budget.
  • Maintain program records and metrics for financial activities.
  • Provide year-end reports and budget information.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with college departments to develop promotional materials.
  • Participate in the Division Management Team to develop division goals, plan in-service programs, evaluate operating procedures, and assess division performance.
  • Supervise division operations during assigned evening and weekend hours.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all divisions and programs.
  • Participate in professional conferences and meetings.
  • Serve as an educational adviser for individuals and training and development personnel.
  • Maintain relationships with professional counterparts and other institutions.
  • Promote and support an environment of belonging for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Foster a community where diverse perspectives enrich the educational experience.
  • Support college policies related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities.
