About The Position

The Assistant Director of Compliance and Enrollment Management promotes education, monitoring and tracking of NCAA compliance and assists in enrollment services. The position plays an integral role in promoting a culture of integrity at Northeastern through education, communication and positive relationships. Primary responsibilities include: creating and delivering rules education to coaches and staff; collecting and monitoring documentation related to playing and practice seasons, recruiting and other pertinent areas; maintenance of required reports, forms and databases; providing NCAA rules interpretations and assisting the Associate AD in working with campus partners (admissions, financial aid, housing, registrar, colleges). This role provides a pathway to engage coaches, student-athletes and staff in embracing NCAA, University and department policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules interpretations and presenting education sessions.
  • Familiarity with Teamworks Compliance (formerly ARMS) recruiting software system, Banner, Compliance Assistant, NCAA, LSDBi and RSRO systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare well-written correspondence and letters.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Publisher.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time, grad or intern experience working with NCAA compliance (at an NCAA member institution, conference office, or the NCAA national office).
  • Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Review required documentation for compliance with NCAA rules, including playing and practice seasons, recruiting, awards & benefits, financial aid, eligibility, and squad lists.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive rules education program for student-athletes, coaches, staff, alumni, and external constituents.
  • Assist Associate AD in conducting team meetings and coaches on-boarding meetings.
  • Process waivers and violations as assigned.
  • Assist with staff rules interpretation requests and review of proposed and adopted NCAA legislation.
  • Regularly update data in Compliance Assistant and Teamworks Compliance (formerly ARMS).
  • Maintain and submit forms required by the institution, conference, and NCAA, including squad lists, hardship petitions, NCAA Transfer Portal, NIL, academic year rollover, and official visit approval process.
  • Collect end-of-year participation reports and distribute Initial Eligibility Progress reports.
  • Conduct compliance audits, recruiting exams, and monitor continuing eligibility certification.
  • Assist with the Athletic Scholarship program, collection of NCAA Academic Performance Program information, and annual update of the department compliance handbook.
  • Assist the Associate AD with enrollment services processes as needed.
  • Annually review and revise the department student-athlete handbook.
  • Act as a secondary liaison with institutional constituents including Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar.
  • Contribute to the overall advancement of the athletics department by promoting an atmosphere of compliance and maintaining institutional control.
  • Assist the Associate AD for Compliance/ES with the continued development and implementation of a successful compliance program.
  • Ensure the integrity of University and departmental policies and procedures with the timely submission of accurate expense reconciliation and time off from work requests.
  • Assist in updating and/or revising sections of the Compliance policy and procedure materials as assigned.
