About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Recreation Sports and Wellness invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Fitness Services. The Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Fitness Services will assist the Director in providing quality Intramural and Club Sport activities for the leisure and recreational needs of the entire university community. The AD for Competitive Sports and Fitness Services is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of fitness room, services, and programs including the overall cleanliness of the fitness room and the maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Physical Education, Health Promotion, Sports and Recreation Leadership, Business Administration, or related field by hire date.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree from an accredited University
• Knowledge of Collegiate Recreation Organization (NIRSA)
• Experience in sports programming, officials training, intramural activities, sports clubs
• Comprehensive understanding of health promotion and wellness programming, recreation fitness trends, group exercise class formats and instruction in a higher education setting

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in providing quality Intramural and Club Sport activities for the leisure and recreational needs of the entire university community.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of fitness room, services, and programs.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness of the fitness room and the maintenance of equipment.
