The Assistant Director of Competitive Sports and Camps provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a year-round Competitive Sports program that includes intramural sports, club sports, open recreation in the Field House, special events and facility rentals, and the Youth Sports and Fitness Camp. Under the direction of an Associate Director or above, this position designs, implements, evaluates, and interprets department processes, policies, and risk management systems so programs are safe, inclusive, fiscally responsible, and aligned with University of North Florida Recreation and Wellness goals. This position supervises two full-time coordinators, student employees, volunteers, interns, and camp staff; manages program budgets, equipment, facilities, records, and web-based systems; collaborates with campus partners, Student Government, Athletics, the RecWell Business Office, and external clients; and uses assessment data, participation trends, and industry best practices to improve programs, staff training, facility use, revenue processes, and student engagement.
