YWCA is looking for a full-time Assistant Director to be an integral part of our team. This role is responsible for preparing a suitable physical and nurturing environment for all children to grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually. The Assistant Director ensures that the sites meet licensing and all other legal compliance regulations, including those from the Department of Human Services (DHS), Keystone STARS, and the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). They will also maintain a team atmosphere between sites, assist with CACFP duties, support enrollment processes, and participate in summer camp planning. The position involves covering classrooms when necessary, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and working cooperatively with the Center Director and staff to uphold positive affiliations with local school districts. The Assistant Director must stay familiar with YWCA Lancaster policies, Child Care Manual procedures, and Keystone STARS requirements to ensure program quality, maintain up-to-date child files for DHS compliance, orient new parents and staff, and perform tours and enrollments. Additionally, they will distribute required childcare information, attend staff meetings, maintain a Professional Development Record, assist with staff training and supervision, and enforce center policies. Flexibility regarding staffing needs and adherence to state regulations for scheduling are also key aspects of this role, along with upholding the YWCA mission and cultural values.
