About The Position

The Assistant Director, Business & Revenue, is responsible for leading the business growth, revenue development, air service development, marketing, communications, property development, and broader economic development activities of Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB). The incumbent is responsible and accountable for growing aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues, increasing passenger activity and air service, maximizing the productive use and development of Airport property and assets, attracting new business and investment, and strengthening GRB's long-term financial sustainability and economic impact throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

Requirements

  • A university degree (or equivalent experience) in airport management, aviation, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive multi-disciplinary airport experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain required airport security clearances/access.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree and aviation industry preferred.
  • AAE Certified Member (C.M.) or Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the EMD to develop and implement GRB’s strategic priorities and annual business plans while translating organizational strategy into actionable business, revenue, air service, marketing, financial, organizational objectives, work plans, performance measures, and departmental priorities.
  • Provides leadership and direction across GRB’s business and revenue development, air service development, property and real estate development, marketing, communications, leases and business agreements, finance, administration, and related functions.
  • Actively identifies and pursues new business, revenue, property development, air service, partnership, and investment opportunities and evaluates market trends and other factors that may affect the Airport's growth and long-term performance.
  • Provides leadership during major GRB emergencies, disruptions, security incidents, or other significant events.
  • Supports, develops and implements as appropriate GRB’s capital improvement program, Master Plan implementation, and long-term infrastructure development.
  • Represents GRB and works with business organizations, industry partners, tenants, airlines, tourism, economic development, and community organizations to identify opportunities that benefit GRB and stakeholders.
  • Models the leadership behaviors, integrity, professionalism, accountability, and collaborative approach expected throughout GRB and takes applicable steps to ensure all members of the team adhere to these standards.
  • Leads the development and execution of GRB's business and revenue growth strategy, with a focus on generating new revenue, strengthening existing revenue streams, attracting new business and investment, and maximizing the productive use of Airport assets.
  • Leads business planning and revenue development related to concessions, rental cars, parking, ground transportation, advertising, terminal business opportunities, and other revenue-generating activities.
  • Develops financial and business analyses to evaluate new opportunities and provides recommendations regarding feasibility, investment requirements, risk, and anticipated return.
  • Leads efforts to maximize the strategic and financial value of Airport-owned property and identifies opportunities for aeronautical and non-aeronautical development, redevelopment, acquisition, and productive use of Airport land and assets.
  • Develops business cases and evaluates market demand, financial feasibility, infrastructure requirements, investment needs, and potential returns associated with property and development opportunities.
  • Develops relationships and partnerships with business, tourism, economic development, civic, and community organizations that support passenger growth, air service development, business attraction, Airport development, and revenue opportunities.
  • Develops and implements strategies to optimize parking revenue, utilization, pricing, product offerings, and financial performance using transaction data, capacity, passenger behavior, and market conditions.
  • Leads the development and execution of GRB's air service and passenger growth strategy, with a focus on strengthening existing service, increasing utilization and load factors, improving connectivity, recapturing regional passenger leakage, and pursuing sustainable new routes, capacity, destinations, and carriers.
  • Analyzes passenger demand, traffic patterns, leakage, fares, schedules, load factors, capacity, market performance, demographic and economic data, and other information relevant to airline service decisions.
  • Identifies priority markets and airline opportunities and develops strategies for engaging prospective carriers and strengthening GRB’s position within incumbent airline networks.
  • Develops and administers air service incentive programs and other initiatives designed to support sustainable passenger and service growth.
  • Coordinates with regional economic development, tourism, business, and community partners to strengthen the Airport’s air service development case.
  • Monitors airline and aviation industry trends and evaluates their potential implications and opportunities for GRB.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the Airport’s marketing, communications, public relations, digital, social media, advertising, and brand activities.
  • Serves as the Airport’s Public Information Officer (PIO) and maintains 24/7 on-call availability to support emergency, incident, irregular operations, and other time-sensitive communications.
  • Develops and implements an integrated marketing and communications program aligned with GRB’s business, passenger growth, air service, revenue, and community objectives.
  • Develops and maintains proactive and productive relationships with media, tourism organizations, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, community groups, and other external partners.
  • Develops and maintains emergency communications protocols, media response procedures, key messaging, and other tools necessary to support timely, accurate, and coordinated communications during GRB incidents.
  • Leads the development of the Airport’s broader guest experience objectives and priorities, with a focus on understanding guest needs and identifying opportunities to improve the travel experience.
  • Develops and uses guest feedback, passenger research, surveys, market data, and other measures to identify trends, evaluate performance, and recommend opportunities to improve the travel experience.
  • Leads the administration, negotiation, preparation, monitoring, and renewal of Airport leases, permits, concession agreements, operating agreements, and other business arrangements.
