About The Position

This position manages day-to-day activities to ensure the department is running efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of customers and staff. Assists with the management/administrative aspects and has operational control of a range of projects. May work on assignments related to project development and management initiatives, internal operating procedures, business processes and policies. This position is not eligible for a hybrid/remote work schedule. This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to multitask and delegate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of duties and tasks.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.

  • Knowledge of human resource administration, regulations and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of HR processing or payroll experience.
  • At least 1 year of working in collegiate athletics.
  • At least 1 year of event operations experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of the Athletic Personnel Services (APS) Team for the Athletics Department.
  • Support the day-to-day activities of the department through participation in meetings as assigned, providing support for the Sports & Entertainment Group and the Athletics Business Office, and participating in cross-training and professional development.
  • Responsible for various processes and liaison with other units such as Human Resources, financials, data management, and communication.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of employee data discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll reporting through utilization of time tracking software, and consistent auditing of timesheets for accuracy and completion.
  • Assist with hiring, recruitment, and onboarding of full-time, temporary, volunteer, and student positions, including, but not limited to, event-specific roles.
  • Assist with coordinating on-campus interviews for approved candidates, including itinerary development, travel coordination, and scheduling.
  • Organize and maintain department-level employee records.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring the completion of performance evaluations.
  • Keep abreast of current human resources policies, processes, procedures, and compliance. Participate, as necessary, in relevant trainings and focus groups.
  • May perform other duties as needed.
