About The Position

Apple Rehab Farmington Valley is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Dietary Manager for its healthcare team in Plainville, Connecticut. The role combines culinary work with leadership responsibilities. The schedule primarily consists of 11 AM to 7 PM shifts, for 32 hours per week. Compensation is $24.00–$25.00 per hour, based on long-term care experience. The position supports the Dietary Manager in maintaining compliance with long-term care regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience is required.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Long-Term Care (LTC) experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary and food safety standards.
• Assist with staff scheduling and daily departmental operations.
• Manage purchasing and inventory control.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to dietary staff.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
• Support the Dietary Manager in maintaining compliance with long-term care regulations and quality standards.
