About The Position

This position is responsible for training and developing Product Sales Specialists and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience through exceptional customer service and product information. The role supports the department's merchandising, pricing, organization, inventory needs, and day-to-day sales-floor operations. The listed pay range is $18.81–$27.79.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service or sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with the company’s core values.
• Follow the company’s safe lifting practices and standard operating procedures.
• Understand and teach the company’s basic retail principles: People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, and Purchasing.
• Provide direction to Product Sales Specialists to ensure attentive and accurate customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure the department’s merchandising, pricing, and organization.
• Communicate standard operating procedure direction and changes to associates in a timely manner.
• Complete Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist with processing merchandise to the showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers helpfully and courteously, and assist with product questions and selections.
• Process checkouts using the point-of-sale system, and handle refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Present how-to classes to customers.
• Follow established cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures.
• Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays as required.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
