About The Position

Lead a thriving pediatric dental and orthodontic practice in Queens, NY. Pediatric Dentistry of Queens is committed to providing a fun, welcoming, and high-quality pediatric dental and orthodontic experience for children and families. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and experienced Assistant Dental Office Manager to lead and support our clinical and administrative teams, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences every day. We're especially interested in candidates with orthodontic leadership experience who enjoy balancing patient care, operations, scheduling, and team development in a fast-paced specialty practice.

Requirements

• 4+ years of dental experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

• Orthodontic experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a pediatric dental and orthodontic practice is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of orthodontic scheduling, treatment coordination, insurance, and patient financing is a plus
• Experience managing workflows for multiple providers and specialties is preferred
• Strong knowledge of pediatric dental procedures, insurance, and billing
• College degree or advanced certifications preferred
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily front and back office operations efficiently
• Lead, mentor, and support staff using a servant-leadership approach
• Manage scheduling, billing, daily closeouts, and clinical workflow
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pediatric dental standards
• Track and analyze KPIs: production, collections, payroll, and expenses
• Handle escalated patient concerns professionally and empathetically
• Train staff on new systems, policies, and performance goals
• Supervise insurance verification, benefit reviews, and patient financing
• Collaborate with HR on staff development, coaching, and performance feedback
