About The Position

Are you a foodie with a knack for leadership? We are looking for an inspiring, hands-on Full-Time Assistant Deli Manager to join our team in Perrysburg. In this role, you will partner directly with the Deli Manager to lead our Deli and Seafood teams, ensure top-tier food quality, and maintain a vibrant, fresh department.

Requirements

  • Must have a passion for working with and cooking Deli and Seafood items
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
  • Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
  • Leadership, sales, and merchandising skills
  • High school diploma/GED
  • ServSafe/Food Safety Certification (or willing to obtain one)
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 40lbs and occasionally lift up to 80lbs
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, twisting, and walking

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food production including fresh cold salads, dips, large-batch soups, smoked meats, grilling, deep frying, and beautiful catering orders.
  • Uphold fresh standards by checking product quality in both Deli and Seafood to ensure everything meets WCM’s high expectations.
  • Keep shelves beautiful and fully stocked, ensuring proper rotation of all fresh items.
  • Lead by example to provide exceptional customer service and hold the team to those same great standards.
  • Train and educate new deli employees, ensuring everyone understands team goals and expectations.
  • Step up as leader to run the department confidently whenever the Deli Manager is away.
  • Monitor progress of team members and provide encouraging, helpful feedback.
  • Manage costs and inventory alongside the Deli Manager by ordering products, tracking shrink, and assisting with quarterly inventory.
  • Boost sales through strategic merchandising and tracking customer buying trends.
  • Build smart schedules to ensure the deli and seafood counters are always fully covered.
  • Maintain pristine spaces by ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and equipment sanitation standards.
