The University of Florida College of Medicine (COM) seeks an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Those in this role provide assistance to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs (ADSA) in administering the duties of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), including oversight and leadership in support of medical students’ educational experience including registration, financial aid, career development, academic counseling, and major events (e.g., graduation). This individual is part of the College of Medicine education leadership team and reports to the Associate Dean for Students Affairs. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for administrative oversight of student support services from matriculation to graduation. The OSA ensures that all student noncurricular activities and programs are adequately supported and comport with all institutional and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation requirements. The OSA works closely with Student Counseling, Student Coaching, Medical Education, Admissions, and other units within the College of Medicine (e.g., Physicians’ Assistant School and Office of Graduate Medical Education). The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs interfaces with other educational and administrative units and programs within the Health Science Center (HSC) and University. This is a 0.30 FTE administrative appointment.
